- What news reading sotware is there available for me to get my hands on?

- Thor: tried it, but it seems to be overly complicated for just
- reading newsgroups... it also insists on reading in every *whole*
- article, so I'd face an hour or so collecting news items, of which I'd
- only read 10% of or so. I couldn't figure a way just to update the
- article subjects, so I could then pick & choose.

- Mnews: this was a nice program; easy to use, does what
- I want; unfortunately in its current release, it's single-threaded and a
- bit buggy.

- I don't want to try those Elm and Tin readers, because they seem to
- want me to install UUCP.
